Whiskey sours are seemingly all the rage now and while bourbon isn’t my drink of choice, this one, from Self Proclaimed Foodie, is pretty delicious. It has enough of a slight fruitiness to appeal to most palates without crossing over into the Land of Paper Umbrella Cocktails. But can we talk about the colour? Perfect for a wedding cocktail. I give it 2 Lazy Bride Cocktail Shakers.
Pomegranate Whiskey Sour

- 4 oz bourbon
- 2 oz lemon juice
- 2 oz pomegranate simple syrup

Boil the water then dissolve sugar over medium heat. Remove from heat, cool and add in pomegranate seeds. Mix in blender, strain, discard solids and voila! Pomegranate simple syrup.
Cocktail (makes 2)
Combine whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup into shaker with ice. Shake, strain and serve in an old-fashioned glass with a couple of large ice cubes. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
