Isn't that a wonderful name for a drink? Sounds like little waves of music washing over your tastebuds. And how appropriate for a summer soiree! I can see guests in big hats, wandering about a lush garden as a string quartet plucks away in the background as they languidly sip at their delicate little punch glasses *sigh*.
Now this drink features a specific liquor called Pimms. For those of you not familiar with it, Pimms is the quintessential summer sipper for Brits. I've enjoyed many a cool Pimms at the Queen's Birthday Party celebration and they are deeeelish (but are like a fist in a velvet glove so imbibe wisely). Definitely worth scouting around for.
May your weekend be mellifluous and sunny!
handful of mint
1 bottle of Pimms
2 bottles of demi-sec champagne or sparkling wine
tonic water (optional)
Place the first six ingrediants into a large punch bowl. Pour in the Pimms and sparkling wine/champagne and add the tonic water and lemonade to taste. Serve in glasses. Enjoy!
