Happy Cocktail Friday! Our libation maven, Angela Price, has shared this delicious and festive sangria recipe from her book Grow, Snip, Shake, Sip: Crafting a Cocktail Garden, using a variety of apples, pears, cranberries and rosemary to give an updated Holiday cocktail.
Red, White & Rosemary Sangria
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 Fuji or other crisp red apple
- 1 pear
- 1 cup cranberries or pomegranate seeds
- 2 large sprigs of rosemary
- 1 750 ml bottle of Pinot Grigio
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup of sugar
- 12 oz sparkling or soda water
Core fruit and chop with skin on. Mix all the ingredients (except for sugar and soda water) into a large pitcher. Slowly add sugar and mix until you achieve desired sweetness. Top with sparkling water and chill. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary
Serves 6 – 8 festive folk.
